What is
FORS

There are 4 types of FORS Membership

The TfL Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a recognised and highly rated voluntary scheme with the aim of raising the bar for fleet operators. Allowing them to demonstrate where they are operating in line with industry best practices, and higher standards of safety, compliance, efficiency and environmental protection.

What are the benefits of FORS for me?

It’s a common misconception among small operators; FORS accreditation is a luxury only the biggest operations have the time (or money) for. However, this has proved to be untrue. Involvement in the scheme promises countless benefits for fleets of all sizes, from owner-driver operations to multinational logistics networks. A few of them are:

  • Reputation boost – Being listed as a FORS member ensures you are recognized among competitors and training partners as an operation that works to the highest industry standards;
  • Cheaper insurance/pay-outs/fuel bills – When you’re remaining compliant with the Standard and hitting KPIs consistently, your operation is running effectively and efficiently;
  • Get the best contracts – FORS membership can pre-qualify your operation for a range of lucrative contracts and tenders

As an approved FORS Associate member the team at Chartwise can assist in a number of ways,  our lead FORS consultant is also an official FORS auditor and therefore knows exactly what it takes to get you accredited. All instructors are experienced both in the classroom and out on the road as LGV driving instructors and our cycling instructors all hold the required Bikeability qualifications.

The FORS Assist packages are customised to your specific requirements from a simple GAP analysis audit and guidance to full assistance, policy and handbook development and a presence on the day of your official FORS audit. For more information check out our FORS Assist service.

Continuous Driver and Management Training is a key element in the FORS standard. By far our most popular course is the FORS Safe Urban Driving Course which is also JAUPT approved and counts as 7 hours towards the Driver CPC Qualification.
