The regulations governing driver’s hours and tachograph rules are complex, open to change and therefore could be misinterpreted.

Regrettably the E.C.drivers hours and tachograph rules are not a compulsory part of driver training courses.

During 20 years of analysing tachograph charts it is not uncommon for transport managers to express their frustration at the inability of Agency drivers to correctly complete the centre field of a tachograph chart..

Ex military drivers who have little or no training in the use of tachographs are vunerable to prosecution by the enforcement authorities.

Chartwise U.K. Offers Certificated Driver Training Courses. A certificate is being increasingly asked for by companies hiring drivers and by Department Inspectors visiting haulage company offices.

Course time :- Approx’ 2 hours +

Course fees:-

For groups of up to 10 drivers........................................£300.00 + expenses

For single driver & groups of less than 5 ....................£25 per person per hour +expenses

 

Assistance with the cost of training maybe available through your local Business Link subject to conditions. In Tyne and Wear this could be up to 40%
